Indy, Google & Siri

Google Maps and Siri distinguish our society, and our trip to Indianapolis as the most interesting society yet. Well at least the most advanced for man (and I mean man not woman). Directions are no longer a reason for bickering and fighting on vacation. Not that we really did that, although at times I would have to remind him to simply stop and ask for directions at a gas station.

Thankfully our previous visits and memory saw us all the way to the door of our hotel. My husband
even recognized some of the street names like Meridian and Michigan. I as passenger did not, ah the glory of riding shotgun. Rest and relaxation all the way, that is until I start getting all cramped up after two hours.

Once the boys wanted to venture out into the big city we had to resort to using Google maps. Many of you may be LG or Galaxy Note users, my son, myself and my husband are not. My husband was for a while, but saw the error of his ways after a year or so. We are die hard IPhone users. It all began with my son's first IPod Touch and at least he and I haven't looked back since. In side note we are all PC users. It's pretty funny to think that we needed a map to get us down a street 15 or so miles and to turn left. Better safe than sorry. Which leads me to another part of my IPhone that I wouldn't want to live without, Siri. Siri emerged on the market in April of 2010. The name derives from the Norse language and is shortened from Sigrid which means "beauty" and "victory". The developer was a pretty smart dude. Most of the instances for which I use Siri comprise themselves as questions and thus make me feel victorious when I find the answer which is a beautiful thing.

Then once again when we were leaving the downtown area my husband got us all turned around and we had to call up the Google maps again to get us back to our hotel. And we arrived safe and sound.
