We begin this adventure as we drive around the $56 million center for art, that is a huge eyesore, supposedly this is architecture for today. Ummmm.... it's ugly. Actually for a Sunday afternoon we had no problem finding front row parking (which is free). It seems so wrong that we as a culture will spend so much money on a lot of expensive wasted space when we could support so many causes with that money, It just irritates me to no end that money is allocated in some sort of grant for institutions to make themselves feel more important. At least cut the whole thing in half and reallocate $32 million in scholarships. Then I see that our university even lacked good accounting practices. Surprise!
As usual, I digress. The Mousetrap, I am no great critique, I don't have a director's chair, or a Phd in cinematography, but from my personal point of view the actors way overdid it.When you begin to compare which actor is the most hideous, you should really just get up and leave. Since my crew didn't appear to be having my same issues, I stayed the course. Then I fell asleep. You know the kind the serious head bob, jerking upright, thinking "okay, I'm awake, I'm awake." Finally intermission came and as we stretched I get the feeling that everyone else is okay with the performance. On we go. At least during intermission we all tried to guess 'whodunit'. I guessed the wife, my husband guessed the husband, my son kind of thought it was the policeman, my mother thought the policeman too. I can't tell you who was right or wrong, to find out you must find a local play and watch for yourself.
